POTTERY STUDIO: Course #0101 @ Monroe Township High School

Express yourself in clay. Jena Brown, Art Teacher, will teach beginners to use basic hand building techniques to create one-of-a-kind projects. More advanced students will develop skills at the potter’s wheel and glazing. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere that accompanies the experience of working with clay. Class is suitable for adults and students High School age and up.

Materials fee of $20 due to the instructor on first night of class.

STILL LIFE DRAWING WITH PASTELS: Course #0102 @ Monroe Township High School

Painting from life is challenging, but it’s also very rewarding when you get it right!
This course is designed to enhance your observational skills and fundamental drawing skills.
You will learn to sketch your artwork, blend colors, to create light and dark space, and to use the pastel
to create strokes with various degrees of clarity, as well as introduce or add to the repertoire of textures and effects you can render. Whether you are an experienced or budding artist, instructor Salomon Kadoche will teach you techniques that you can use to create beautiful artwork.
A list of suggested course supplies will be issued upon registration.  

Class is suitable for adults and students High School age and up.

creativity to the next level.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF SHERLOCK HOLMES: Course #0200 @ Monroe Township High School

The year: 1885. The place: Victorian England. Climb the 17 steps to enter the cozy sitting room where Holmes and Watson sit by the fire and where it is always 1885.  Join Instructor Paul Hartnett, Member ASH, several scions, a Sherlockian scholar with articles published in many journals, and learn about the great detective and his trusty companion Dr. Watson. At Canonical Sleuths, Inc. (“CSI”) the game is afoot and new students are encouraged to join the fun. Class is suitable for all levels of experience and High School students 13 and up. Those unfamiliar with the stories bring fresh perspectives and questions to the discussions. This web-Site will allow students free access to the stories we will be discussing in class.

Monday, October 16th from 3 pm- 7 pm or 6 pm-8 pm

OPENING RECEPTION
Sunday, October 22nd from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
By invitation, all submitting artists, their guests, and Patrons of the Arts are invited to enjoy the opening reception.

MEDIA: Works in all media will be considered.  Two-dimensional work must be framed and ready for wired hanging.  Sculpture will be displayed on pedestals.

ELIGIBILITY: The exhibit is open to living artists of all ages.  Work must be original and not from kits. Only one submission per person.  Oversized works may be allowed at the discretion of the judge and space availability.

ENTRY FORMS: Complete all FOUR entry forms to the right.  Attach one to the artwork; remaining forms are for staff use, and must be presented with a $10.00 non-refundable entry fee. ONE ENTRY PER ARTIST (Cash or check made payable to “Patrons of the Arts”)

ARTWORK PICK-UP: Artists whose works are NOT SELECTED will be notified by e-mail or phone.  Mandatory pick up for non-selected work is Thursday, October 19th, between 11am and 3pm. SELECTED work
must remain in the exhibit until the conclusion of the show.
Pick up is Tuesday, October 31st, between 11 and 3 pm. or by appointment.

After this date, we are not responsible for artwork.
A $10.00 late fee will be charged.

JUDGE: Lindsay Erben is the Director of Central Jersey Arts Council, promoting culture, history, and the arts. She is experienced in art education, painting, printmaking, & museum administration.

of chamber music.

Beethoven | String Quartet No. 14 in C# Minor, Op. 131

The LARK Quartet continues to delight audiences with its energy, passionate commitment,
and artistry since its inception in 1985. The LARK has performed in many of the world’s great
cultural centers including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Library of Congress, London’s
Wigmore Hall, and L’Opéra de la Bastille in Paris, and has appeared at international festivals
including Lockenhaus, the Schleswig-Holstein, Mostly Mozart, Istanbul, Wolftrap, and the
Beethoven Festival in Moscow.


About the PSO Chamber Series

The PSO Chamber Series is presented in partnership with the Institute for Advanced Study. With programs connected to themes explored in PSO Classical Series concerts, the series offers sophisticated classical music in an intimate setting. PSO musicians, guest artists and their colleagues present traditional and modern works at the Institute for Advanced Study.
